An unknown problem has knocked out the 911 phone system for Logan County, Bellefontaine and Sidney, officials reported Monday morning.
Business calls have been rerouted to local sheriff and police departments.
However, the 911 calls are going through the Union County centers and then transferred to the local dispatch centers, Bellefontaine Police Chief Brandon Standley said.
CenturyLink, Airbus and Netgain are working at resolving the problem which was discovered this morning.
In the past year, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office and the Bellefontaine Police Department entered into an agreement with Sidney and Shelby County officials to share 911 servers.
“It has to be something in that system,” the chief said.
