The Logan County Board of Developmental Disabilities finalized the agency’s 2017 budget during their Thursday evening meeting, the last meeting of the year as the board does not meet during December.
Superintendent Saul Bauer reviewed the budget, pointing to the fiscal efficiencies during the past five years. Annual expenditures have been reduced by more than $1.5 million since 2012.
Also during that time period, revenues have dropped more than $400,000.
Mr. Bauer explained that most of the efficiencies were the result of staffing reductions, and the revenue loss is largely because of the loss of tangible personal property tax and the reduction of Federal Medicaid Waiver billing.
