With the understanding we can never honor those who fought and died for our country enough, the American Legion Harold Kerr Post #173 hosted a Veterans Appreciation Dinner on Saturday, Nov. 12, from noon to 3 p.m.
The event was sponsored by the Logan County Veterans Commission.
“It follows Veterans Day and is our way of saying thank you for your service,” Russ Strayer, president of the commission, said. This was their first appreciation dinner since 2019.
The approximately 80 men and women who attended the meal were served pulled pork sandwiches and sides from Uncle Beth’s of North Lewisburg. Another 36 lunches were delivered to Campbell Place, a retirement community in Bellefontaine.
Women from the post’s auxiliary unit served the meal with assistance from The Daughters of the American Revolution, which also provided dessert.
