David J. Williams, 42, of 214 Pratt St., Apt. 6, was charged Sunday with two counts of felony assault on a police officer.
At 3:10 a.m., officers responded to 304 N. Park St. on a trespassing complaint.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department had dealt with two prior complaints involving Williams and Brittany Case at their shared Pratt Street residence in the previous hour.
After the second altercation, Case left for her parents’ residence. Williams was soon at the 304 N. Park home, banging on the windows.
He was located riding a bicycle in the 100 block of north Park Street and taken into custody for persistent disorderly conduct. Officers began to search him for transport to the Logan County Jail and he became agitated.
He was tased and began kicking at officers. One officer was struck on his left arm and shoulder while another’s left hand was kicked.
Officers continued to use tasers to gain control of Williams.
The suspect was transported to jail and placed in a restraint chair.
