Jolene M. McGarvey, 60, of Lakeview, was transported by Indian Lake squad to St. Rita’s Medical Center for possible injuries sustained in a crash about 7:40 a.m. Wednesday.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report she was operating a southbound sport utility vehicle on State Route 235 on the north side of Indian Lake when she slowed to turn onto an Indian Lake State Park pull-off on Maple Street. She was struck from behind by a southbound pickup operated by Lucas McClain, 18, of Lakeview.
Mr. McClain did not report any injuries, and he was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.
Damage was moderate to the SUV and light to the pickup. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
• Jacob L. Hilliard, 17, of Huntsville, was cited for failure to control following a non-injury crash on State Route 720 about 7:50 p.m. Wednesday.
He reportedly was operating an eastbound car and attempted to make a left-hand turn onto Township Road 239 when he drove off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole. Damage was heavy to his car, which was towed from the scene.
The driver was wearing his seat belt.
• Jacob A. Kuhn, 18, of West Mansfield, was cited for failure to yield the right of way following a two-vehicle crash about 6:15 p.m. Wednesday.
He reportedly was operating a northbound pickup on State Route 292 when he stopped at the stop sign at State Route 47. He then proceeded into the intersection and was struck by a westbound car operated by Jill C. Caudill, 48, of West Mansfield.
Damage was disabling to both vehicles. No injuries were reported, and the drivers were wearing their seat belts.
• Deputies responded about 1:20 p.m. Wednesday to a report of a semi-tractor trailer that had lost two of its rear tandem wheels on Cretcher Street in DeGraff.
The southbound semi was operated by David Tenhunfeld, 24, of London, Ohio, on Cretcher Street near Ellis Street. One of the wheels that came off the semi struck a pickup operated by Jerry Burkhammer, 68, of Bellefontaine, in a nearby parking lot, causing moderate damage to the pickup.
No injuries were reported, and no citations were issued.
