Allison Reule enjoyed a successful run as Benjamin Logan’s head volleyball coach. With Reule moving on, Ben Logan has tabbed Jackie Cline as its new leader.
The Benjamin Logan Schools Board of Education held an emergency meeting Friday morning and approved the hiring of Cline as the new volleyball head coach.
After a thorough interview process, the recommendation of Cline to the school board came after a unanimous decision by the interview committee put together by activities director Kevin Butler.
School board member Chris Larsen made the motion to hire Cline. It received a quick second by Mark Himmeger.
Cline brings 20 plus years of coaching experience to Ben Logan.
“The depth of Jackie’s credentials in the volleyball world really solidified the decision,” stated John Scheu, Superintendent, in a school press release.
Since 2007, Cline has owned and directed the Elite Volleyball Training Center in Plain City.
She played college volleyball for The Ohio State University from 2002-2005. The team made it to the Sweet Sixteen and Final Eight while she was a Buckeye.
Cline has also served as a color commentator for the OHSAA state volleyball championships.
“I have been coaching volleyball for 21 years,” said Cline. “My playing career allowed me to compete on the Ohio State women’s varsity volleyball team on a full-ride scholarship. I am proud to say that I have represented my country by participating in the USA Volleyball Youth Volleyball Team in 2000 and the USA Volleyball Junior Volleyball Training Program in 2001.
“After playing in the Big Ten under the direction of Jim Stone, I knew I wanted to help the next generation of volleyball players become great women in the world while competing in the game of volleyball. My husband and I started Elite Volleyball Training Center where we have helped athletes excel in volleyball since 2007. We have earned $15,050,000 in collegiate scholarships for the athletes who have participated in our programing.”
Cline said she is looking forward to becoming a part of the Ben Logan athletic community.
“I want to thank Superintendent John Scheu and athletic director Kevin Butler for the opportunity to be the next varsity coach for the girls volleyball team at Benjamin Logan High School,” said Cline. “I am excited to be part of the long standing tradition of excellence found in the Benjamin Logan volleyball program. These young women are already coming off a great season, and I know that their experience as a Raider will not only help them succeed on the court, but in life.”
“Volleyball is a great tool to show young women how to be warriors, great teammates, and work with a group of individuals toward a common goal of winning. These are all skills our student athletes will use beyond the court in life. I cannot wait to share my passion for volleyball with them as we journey forward into next season and into the future.”
Reule led the Raiders for the last 11 seasons. She recently decided to step down to devote more time to her family.
