Laura D. Snider, 53, of 180 N. Main St., Lakeview, was charged with operating a watercraft under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs related to a boating incident on Indian Lake early Thursday morning.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched just after midnight to the area of Old Field Beach on a report of two boats that were stranded on the water just off the shore.
While deputies were en route, dispatchers advised that one female caller was hard to understand because of her slurred speech.
Upon arrival in the area, deputies located two men walking on the bridge from Old Field Beach to State Route 235. They advised they had been with the woman, who now was being assisted by fire and EMS personnel to get the boat back to shore.
Deputies spoke with Snider as she stepped off the boat, and she said she had been operating the boat. She displayed signs of impairment, deputies said, and she admitted to drinking a beer and two shots earlier that evening.
The defendant submitted to a portion of field sobriety testing and was released to a sober person.
