Several area school districts are just three weeks away from going back to school, which means it’s time for United Way of Logan County’s annual Stuff the Bus School Supply Drive.
Area residents who would like to participate can pick up extra supplies for kids to use in Logan County classrooms and drop them off at one of the more than 30 collection sites in the county.
Supplies should be dropped off by Monday, Aug. 9. and United Way volunteers will get them to all the schools before the first day of classes.
Stuff the Bus is collecting the following items: backpacks, pencils, Post-it notes, elastic waist pants and shorts, underwear, socks, masks and face coverings, disinfecting wipes, hand sanitizer, composition notebooks, crayons, dry erase markers, folders, glue and glue sticks, headphones, highlighters, index cards, markers, paper, pens (blue and black), rulers, scissors, school boxes, zipper binders, tissues, paper towels and sandwich bags.
This year, all supplies collected will be delivered directly to the following school districts — Bellefontaine, Benjamin Logan, Calvary Christian, Indian Lake, Riverside and West Liberty-Salem schools and Mac-O-Cheek Learning Center and the Ohio Hi-Point Career Center.
Supplies will be available in each school office so teachers can stock their classrooms and students who come to school without an item can have easy access to what they need.
Anyone who needs access to the school supplies should call their school office the week your kids go back to school to let them know you need to access the United Way school supplies and they will allow you to select what you need.
