Mark A. Stierhoff, 66, of Bellefontaine, passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, in The Ohio State Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Mark was born May 25, 1955 in Marysville, the son of the late Theodore and Lucille (Nicol) Stierhoff.
He was a graduate of Fairbanks High School. Mark retired after 42 years of service at The Scotts Company. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Marysville and attended the Middleburg United Methodist Church for the last 33 years. There, he was a trustee and served on the Labor Day Noodle & Dumpling Dinner team. He also participated in the Billy Graham Crusades in Columbus in 1993 as an altar counselor.
He was a member of the Middleburg Park Improvement Committee which helped to make many improvements to the park in that community. Mark was a Boy Scout Leader for over 20 years and coached baseball and softball as well. Mark enjoyed camping, riding bikes, hiking, woodworking, playing softball, basketball and volleyball on various church teams. He was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds, Bengals and The Ohio State Buckeyes.
But most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends, especially watching his grandchildren play sports or other activities. He loved the Lord and wanted all his loved ones and friends to accept Jesus as their Savior so they could all be in heaven together someday. For those that knew Mark, he was loyal, hardworking and always ready to lend a hand. He will be greatly missed.
Mark is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sally (Hardman) Stierhoff, children: Allan (Kristin) Stierhoff, Shelly Stout, Rebecca (Matthew) Cobern and Matthew Stierhoff; grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Nicholas Stierhoff, Alexander and Claire Stout, Abigail, Lucas and Meredith Althouse, Ian (Brooke), Patrick and Emma Cobern; great-grandchildren, Benson, Joseph, and Stephen Cobern; brother, Steven (Juli) Stierhoff; brothers-in-laws, Ronnie Hardman, Jack Hardman, Paul (Lois) Hardman, Bill (Joyce) Hardman, Dave (Ruthie) Hardman and Don (Jill) Hardman as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and father and mother-in-law, Ralph and Bea Hardman.
Calling hours for family and friends will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 25, in the Middleburg United Methodist Church, Middleburg, Ohio. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 26, in the church with Reverend Carolyn Christman officiating.
Burial will follow in Middleburg Cemetery.
