Roy Raymond Myers, Jr., 74, of Lakeview, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021, at his home.
Roy was born on July 27, 1946, in Columbus, a son of the late Roy Raymond Myers Sr, and Charlotte Rising Myers. He was also preceded in death by three siblings, Kate Barrett, Chy Galloway, and Larry Myers.
Roy married Sylvia “Sue” Gilliam and she survives. He is also survived by seven children, Joseph Myers, Tony Lee, Jenny Stewart, Roy Myers, Jr., Gary Myers, Diane Needles and Lois Needles, numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren, three siblings, Pat Gabriel, Walt Myers and Ed Myers and many nieces and nephews.
Roy was a loving husband, dad, and grandpa. He worked as a services manager for The Ohio State University Village. He was a member of Indian Lake Moose Lodge #1533, and Columbus F.O.P. Roy was an avid OSU Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns Fan. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, riding his Harley-Davidson and his dogs- Sam/Lady. He was always willing to help anyone he saw in need. Roy was loved by all that knew him and will be deep missed.
Pastor Don Patton will begin a celebration of Roy’s life at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 8, at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., Lakeview, with visitation from 1 to 3 p.m. Due to state Covid-19 pandemic guidelines, attendees are asked to be symptom free, maintain social distancing and wear a facial covering.
