Elvin E. Smith, 52, of Russells Point, passed away Friday, March 12, 2021, at 10:51 P.M. at his residence.
He was born in Boise, Idaho, on April 27, 1968, the son of the late Elvin E. and Muriel (Webb) Smith.
On Sept. 12, 2009, he married Tricia (Nelson) Smith and she survives.
He is also survived by two daughters, Jessica Smith of San Diego, Brianna Smith and a son, Ethan Smith, both of Russells Point, a granddaughter, Jaela Ramos, a sister, Michelle (Pete) Moore of Horseshoe Bend, Idaho, his father and mother in-laws, Mark (Kathy) Nelson of Russells Point and Jim (Brenda) Lamma of Maplewood, and too many nieces and nephews to mention.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a nephew, Brian.
Elvin was born and raised in Boise, Idaho, and always dreamed of moving back there someday. He loved to spend time with his family, doing any activity that is outdoors, loved road trips, and building anything he could get his hands on. He worked as a maintenance technician for EMI, Jackson Center. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving his country on the USS Ranger as an ABF from January 1987 until December of 1990.
A memorial service will be Thursday, March 18, at 6 p.m. in the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St. Bellefontaine, OH 43311 with military honors from the Logan County Veteran Honor Guard. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
The memorial service will be livestreamed via Facebook Live thru the funeral home’s Facebook account https://www.facebook.com/daringsanford . Burial will be at a later date in Idaho.
