Members of the Logan County Joint Drug Task Force arrested four Bellefontaine area residents Thursday afternoon as a result of a heroin trafficking investigation.

The task force, assisted by officers and detectives of the Bellefontaine Police Department and Logan County Sheriff’s Office, apprehended all four defendants about 4 p.m. in a vehicle that was stopped in traffic in the area of the U.S. Route 33 off ramp at State Route 540.
The vehicle was operated by Ryan Warner, 30, of 868 E. Sandusky Ave., and was owned by another occupant of the vehicle, Jami L. McKinnon, 33, of 417 Garfield Ave.
Two other passengers in the vehicle included J.D. Crawford, 34, of 304 Plumvalley St., and Rickie Anderson, 53, of 316 Garfield Ave. Each of the occupants was found to be in the possession of heroin, and most of the defendants admitting to using heroin prior to leaving Columbus, which was found to be the source city for the drug.
Several hypodermic needles, crack cocaine pipes and other drug paraphernalia were located on their persons and inside the vehicle.
Each of the suspects was charged with possession of heroin. The task force also had obtained heroin trafficking warrants for Ms. McKinnon related to the investigation, and she also was charged with possession of drug abuse instruments.
Mr. Crawford had multiple pending warrants for three counts of theft. Mr. Anderson had a pending Miami County warrant for a probation violation.
The four defendants were placed under arrest and transported to the Logan County Jail.
