Benjamin Logan’s volleyball team was swept by visiting North Union on Thursday 25-10, 25-20, 25-16 in an important Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division match.
The Raiders are now 4-3 overall and 1-1 in the CBC Mad River division. The Wildcats move to 5-1 overall and stay atop the Mad River division at 2-0.
Ben Logan hosts Springfield Shawnee on Saturday for another CBC contest.
WL-Salem takes down Greeneview
West Liberty-Salem’s volleyball team picked up a four-set win over host Greeneview on Thursday 25-6, 21-25, 25-21, 25-17 in Ohio Heritage Conference action.
The Tigers are now 4-1 overall and 5-2 in the OHC standings, while the Rams fall to 4-2, 4-2.
Bailey Poppe led WL-Salem with 18 kills, two aces, 13 digs, one block, was 20-21 serving and 7-9 serve receive, Michele Smith tallied 12 kills, 17 digs, two blocks, was 15-16 serving and was 8-9 serve receive, Gabby Williams recorded 25 digs, had 31 assists, one kill, was 93-93 setting and 6-6 serving, Leah Ropp had six kills, five aces, nine digs, was 15-16 serving and 8-9 serve receive, Olivia Wilcox had 15 digs and was 4-4 serve receive, Naomi McGill tallied seven digs, one ace and was 16-16 serving, while Ally Garver added 12 kills, one kill, one ace, was 18-19 serving and 30-31 serve receive.
In junior varsity action, WL-Salem beat Greeneview 25-17, 25-18.
Lexy Lee led the Tigers with six kills, four digs, two aces and was 14-14 serving, Makenna Smith had 12 digs and was 12-12 serving and Bella Meister had four digs, 13 assists, was 40-40 setting and 7-7 serving.
WL-Salem hosts Cedarville on Tuesday for another OHC contest.
Pirates tame Perry
Riverside’s volleyball team remained undefeated after a three-set win over host Lima Perry on Thursday 25-18, 25-13, 25-6 in Northwest Central Conference play.
The Pirates improve to 7-0 overall and are 3-0 in the league.
Jenna Woods sparked the Riverside attack with 13 kills, Lauryn Sanford had six kills, 21 assists and 12 digs, Sierra Snow dished out 13 assists with five digs, Olivia Perk had six kills, Alaina Snow had seven kills, Allison Knight recorded eight digs and Hailee Harshbarger added seven digs.
In junior varsity action, Riverside beat Perry 25-17, 25-20.
Cassie May tallied seven assist for the Pirates, while Grace Brownlee led the team in passing and Keianna Notestine led the team in serving.
Riverside travels to Covington on Saturday for a tri-match.
Cougars zap Chieftains
Bellefontaine’s volleyball team couldn’t slow down host Kenton Ridge in a three-set loss Thursday 25-8, 25-13, 25-12 during Central Buckeye Conference play.
The loss drops the Chieftains to 2-5 overall and 0-1 in the CBC Kenton Trail division. The Cougars boost their record to 6-1, 2-0.
Kenton Ridge also beat BHS in the junior varsity match 25-7, 25-9.
Bellefontaine travels to London on Tuesday for its next CBC match.
Lakers outlast Warriors
Indian Lake’s volleyball team pulled out a 25-23, 25-22, 18-25, 18-25, 15-9 win over Northwestern in Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division action Wednesday night.
The Lakers are now 2-6 on the season.
Allix Cotterman piled up 45 digs to spark the Lakers. She also was 13-16 on serves received and had five aces.
Kendall Cotterman was 23-26 serving with six aces, Gracie Taylor was 22-22 hitting with 12 kills, Allison Kinney was 16-18 hitting with seven kills, Hailey Talbot was 14-14 hitting with five kills, Callie Notestine was 46-47 setting had had 11 digs and 11 assists, Stephanie Alstaetter was 50-55 setting and had 14 assists, Cheyenne Hill had nine digs and Kayli Tussing was 16-18 on serves received.
Indian Lake’s junior varsity Red team won 21-25, 25-20, 25-23. For the Lakers, Lexi Lones was 15-15 on serves received and Paige Mefford was 7-8 serving with two aces.
