Bellefontaine’s boys soccer team scored two first-half goals and rode that to a 2-0 victory over visiting Northwestern on Wednesday for a Central Buckeye Conference win.
The win moves the Chieftains to 3-1-2 overall and 1-1 in the CBC Kenton Trail division, while the Warriors slide to 3-2-1, 1-1.
Beau Slyer struck first for BHS in the first half with a free kick outside of the box. That put the Chieftains ahead 1-0. Isaiah Henry added a goal after an assist from Dakota Shell, putting Bellefontaine out to a 2-0 advantage.
There was no scoring in the second half, but the Chieftains played standout defense to preserve the win.
Bellefontaine hosts Kenton Ridge today for another CBC contest.
