Mary Rutan Hospital Orthopedics & Sports Medicine announced this week a new partnership with the Orthopaedic Institute of Ohio to offer expanded orthopedic services to the Logan and Champaign County areas, beginning immediately.
“We are pleased to be working with OIO to bring additional orthopedic services to our region, “ said Mandy Goble, Mary Rutan Hospital president & CEO. “They have an
outstanding reputation in northwest Ohio for achieving exceptional patient outcomes. In addition, they offer a broad range of specialty care, which will further enhance our ability to care for orthopedic patients locally.”
With the addition of three orthopedic surgeons, enhanced services as a result of the new partnership will include specialists in hand, spine, trauma, joint replacement, an array of surgical procedures and expanded emergency department coverage.
Dr. Steven Haman, Dr. Jason Anane-Sefah and Dr. Frank Fumich of Orthopaedic Institute of Ohio will join sports medicine specialist Dr. Nicholas Peters and general orthopedic specialist Dr. Robert Anderson of Mary Rutan Hospital Orthopedics & Sports Medicine.
The five orthopedic surgeons will see patients in Bellefontaine and Urbana and perform surgeries locally at Mary Rutan Hospital.
“Patients expect to receive the care they need in a setting that is close to home,” said Chad Ross, Mary Rutan Hospital chief operations officer. “Patients in Logan and Champaign counties have continued to request additional orthopedic specialties and with this partnership, we have the opportunity to enhance our services and emergency department coverage, while providing quality care from some of the best specialists in the field.”
With the enhancements in services locally, patients will now have access to local specialists in the following areas of care: hip, elbow, foot and ankle, knee, spine, hand and wrist, shoulder, epidural blocks and injections, arthritis, sports medicine, surgical and non-surgical treatments, fracture care, osteoporosis, trauma and general orthopedics.
“Mary Rutan Hospital Orthopedics & Sports Medicine continues on a trajectory of growth,” said Dr. Peters, sports medicine and orthopedic surgeon. “We know this new approach will enhance our offerings and bring success to even more patients seeking orthopedic solutions without having to travel for their care.”
