Harold C. Brown, 62, of Bellefontaine, was cited Thursday for a traffic control device violation after a backhoe he was operating struck and became stuck under the railroad viaduct on Troy Road.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department report he was southbound around 7:55 a.m. when the backhoe hit the viaduct and snagged a piece of rebar. There was noticeable damage to the viaduct which required a temporary closing of the road.
Man lodged for probation violation
Ryan J. Parmer, 27, at large, was lodged in the Logan County Jail after officers found him visibly impaired 1:25 a.m. Thursday.
He was spotted sitting on the edge of driveway to a residence in the 500 block of Walker Street.
He admitted to abusing methamphetamine in the prior 24 hours and was lodged on a probation violation.
Dog bites pizza delivery woman
David Organ, 44, of 919 Eastern Ave., was issued a dangerous dog notice Monday evening after his tethered dog bit his cousin, Amy Southard, while she was delivering a pizza to the residence.
Southard, who lives outside of Bellefontaine, told officers she typically delivers Organ’s order to his rear door. This was the first time the dog was not in a kennel.
She sustained a deep bit mark about three inches above her left knee. A Bellefontaine squad responded to check her wound.
