Robert Shaun Carter, 50, of Bellefontaine passed away Thursday, June 25, 2020, at the OSU Medical Center in Columbus.
Shaun was born Aug.14, 1969, in Bellefontaine to Carre R. and Patricia A. (Tuffnell) Carter.
Shaun graduated from Bellefontaine High School in 1987, where he ran cross country and track. He later continued his education at Malone University. Shaun spent more than 12 years loving life in Key West, working as a night club manager. He was very caring and had a loving nature planning and organizing charity events; including the Wounded Warrior Project and the Make a Wish Foundation. He had spent the most recent years selflessly caring for his mother here in Bellefontaine. Shaun was known for his sense of humor, putting smiles on everyone’s face. He enjoyed spending time with his family at any and all family functions, especially the family vacations to Myrtle Beach. Shaun was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed.
Shaun is survived by his mother, Patricia Ann Carter; siblings, Kerri Lynn (Byron) Sullivan, Gary Michael (Sheri) Carter, Mark Antony (Patty) Carter, Stacey Leann (Jack) Stahler and Jennifer Jean (Gregg) DeMent, numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews; his loving dogs, Spike and Brailey.
Shaun is preceded in death by his father, Carre Richard Carter; the love of his life, his partner Patrick Shawn Winters; grandparents Samuel and Lucille Carter and Richard and Doris Tuffnell.
Due to COVID-19, the family will have a private family service Sunday, June 28. There will be a celebration of life held at a later date. Pastor Andy Carter and Tony Carter will be officiating the service.
