Zachary Joseph Alles, 25, of 123 Springerwoods Blvd., Delaware, was cited after a one-vehicle accident the morning of Monday, Dec. 23.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report that at about 6:30 a.m. Monday, Alles was traveling eastbound on County Road 10 and went off the right side of the road and struck a mailbox and struck the ditch.
Alles did not report any injuries and was cited for failure to control.
Bellefontaine woman cited after intersection accident
Katrina Maria Gerardo, 22, of 1217 Firethorn Drive, Bellefontaine, was cited for failure to yield at a stop or yield sign after striking another vehicle Monday afternoon.
Deputies report Robert Berger, 56, 10251 Township Road 75, Quincy, was traveling southbound on County Road 18 while Gerardo was stationary facing westbound on Township Road 200.
Gerardo reportedly failed to yield to Berger and the intersection of Township Road 200 and County Road 18, striking Berger’s vehicle at about 3:49 p.m., Monday, Dec. 23.
No injuries were reported and Gerardo was cited for the accident.
Lima woman transported in U.S. 33 West crash
Rachel Ennis, 18, of 4690 Zurmehly Road, Lima, was transported by Bellefontaine EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of possible injuries sustained in a crash Monday on U.S. Route 33 West.
Deputies report while Ennis was traveling westbound on U.S. Route 33 West at about 4:42 p.m. she failed to maintain control and traveled off the left side of the roadway.
Ennis the entered the eastbound traffic lane, traveled off the eastbound traffic lane to the left, rolled her vehicle and came to a rest in a ditch, resting on the roof of the vehicle.
Ennis was cited for failure to control.
Hit-skip crash results in OVI, reckless operation charges
Justin O. Orsborne, 39, of 114 N. Boggs St., DeGraff, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, reckless operation, leaving the scene of a crash and persistent disorderly conduct related to a hit-skip crash early this morning.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded about 1:20 a.m. to his residence on an initial report of a domestic dispute and were notified that Orsborne had left the residence after breaking items in the home. The caller also informed dispatchers that the defendant was intoxicated.
Deputies report Orsborne was operating a southbound pickup on Main Street in DeGraff near Thatcher Avenue when he crossed over the center line and went off the east side of the road, striking a mailbox at 527 S. Main St. He then re-entered the road and left the scene.
He reportedly drove back to his home and began yelling at a female resident for calling law enforcement.
Deputies observed that the defendant displayed signs of intoxication and he told deputies that he did nothing wrong. They also noticed that his pickup was covered in mud, but there was no other visible damage.
Orsborne refused to take field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest. While en route to the Logan County Jail, he reportedly began yelling and hitting his head on the divider in the cruiser and sustained a gash to his head, deputies said.
At the jail, he refused to take a urine test.
• Jared J. Sherry, 23, of Columbus, was charged with OVI related to a non-injury rollover crash Christmas Eve on Township Road 99 at U.S. Route 33.
Deputies report he was operating a westbound minivan about 8:45 a.m. when he drove off the right side of the road and his vehicle overturned and struck a guardrail, coming to rest in a ditch. Damage was heavy to the vehicle.
Deputies observed that the driver displayed signs of intoxication. He submitted to field sobriety tests and was transported to the jail, where he refused to submit to a urine test.
He was released to a sober person and also was cited for failure to control.
