A couple were arrested Tuesday after a witness reported they were trying to get into parked vehicles in the 1100 block of Erie Street around 5:50 a.m.
Jacob M. Gayman, 33, of 600 W. Columbus Ave., was charged with criminal trespassing, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, possession of methamphetamine, illegal possession of prescription drugs and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
His wife, Amber R. Corey-Gayman, 32, was charged with criminal trespassing and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The witness reported a trio tried to get into her daughter’s pickup truck. They did not succeed and walked southbound checking other vehicles.
A responding officer located the trio on Superior Street east of Wilgus Street. He spoke to the couple and to Corey-Gayman’s 12-year-old daughter.
Watches, makeup and other items were found in bags carried by the wife and her daughter while methamphetamine and an orange prescription pill were found on Gayman. He also had a plastic tube with white and orange powder residue and a cylinder containing a small baggie with crystalline substance
He was lodged in the Logan County Jail while Corey-Gayman was issued a summons. The case was referred to prosecutors for review of additional charges.
Man charged
Morgan Douglas, 23, of 715 W. Chillicothe Ave., Apt. 2, was charged Tuesday with criminal trespassing, persistent disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana.
At 11:25 p.m. Monday, officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department arrived at Taco Bell, 1500 S. Main St., on a disturbance complaint. They witnessed Douglas yelling at a shift manager and then grabbing a white cable from the manager.
Officers learned he had been fired from his job and was ordered to leave. He only complied when officers directed him out and told him not to return.
Around 40 minutes later, he came back and was circling the building. He was again ordered off the property.
An officer maintained patrols in the area and observed Douglas back in the lot around 12:35 a.m. He tried to walk off but was stopped and arrested.
A marijuana cigarette was found in his clothing.
Missing woman located
Officers successful located a 75-year-old North Robinson woman, who was listed on a statewide bulletin as missing, around 2:50 a.m. Tuesday.
She was stopped after an officer observed her southbound vehicle commit multiple lane violations while southbound in the 700 block of south Main Street.
Officers transported her to Mary Rutan Hospital for observation. Her family later came and took her home.
