Robert T. “Bob” Breece, 86, of Lakeview, passed away Monday, Dec. 9, 2019, at Logan Acres surrounded by his loving family.
Bob was born March 24, 1933, in Lima, to the late Everett Edward and Martha Ellen (Swaim) Breece. On June 30, 1957, Bob married Goldie Alice (Courtright) Joseph who passed before him on July 24, 1992. He later remarried on Oct. 18, 1996, in Bellefontaine to Vicki L. Peck, with whom he happily spent the rest of his life.
Bob was a Navy veteran who served on the U.S.S. Dixie and the U.S.S. Fletcher as a fireman in the boiler room during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed his time in the Navy, and all of the traveling that came with it. Bob can be remembered by his family for having several memorable sayings known as “Bob-isms,” that could be pulled out of the “Bob Dictionary.” He enjoyed bragging about his fishing skills and could tell a good story about his time fishing his Indian Lake that he loved very much. Bob loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids and his dogs. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Gerald “Jerry” Lynn Joseph; grandson, Brad Joseph; sister, Melba Schmenk; brothers-in-law, Micky Schmenk, Paul Cox, and Norman Kahle.
A Celebration of Life will take place at the Moose Lodge in Lakeview on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2019, from 1 to 3 p.m. Please join the family there for a time of remembrance and celebration of Bob’s life. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
