COLUMBUS — Governor Mike DeWine Monday announced the appointment of Kevin P. Braig to serve as judge of the Logan County Court of Common Pleas.
Braig, of Belle Center, will replace Judge William T. Goslee, who resigned, effective July 15.
The new judge will assume office on Dec. 2 and must run for election on Nov. 3, 2020, for the remainder of the term ending Dec. 31, 2022.
In August, The Logan County Republican Central Committee nominated Braig along with Linda MacGillivray and Eric Stewart for Gov. DeWine’s consideration to fill Goslee’s unexpired term. The committee had previously selected local attorney Steven Fansler, who declined the nomination.
Braig received his bachelor’s degree from Ohio University Scripps School of Journalism in Athens and law degree from University of Cincinnati College of Law. The Ohio State Bar Association member currently serves as partner at Shumaker, Loop and Kendrick, LLP, in Columbus, where his practice focused on farming and agribusiness.
