Collaboration among Bellefontaine’s downtown businesses have created a vibrant environment that is attracting people from outside Logan County, Matt Brown of Small Nation told about two dozen attendees at a tourism and convention breakfast Wednesday.

It has taken years of persistence and significant investment on the part of the Small Nation team led by Jason Duff, but the downtown retailers and restaurants are reaping the benefits, he said.
The key, Brown said, is not to view other restaurants or boutiques as unwanted competitors, but as another piece of the community that helps draw people to the area.
It is a message the Logan County Chamber of Commerce and its Tourism Bureau hope spreads across Logan County.
‘We have a lot of attractions here,” Chamber Executive President and CEO Ben Vollrath said as he opened a breakfast meeting hosted at YMCA Camp Willson, 2732 County Road 11. “This is an incredible place and we’re trying to share the story.
“We want to build awareness that this is a destination place and get our visitors to stay a night or two rather than just visit for a day.”
