RICHWOOD — Detectives from the Multi-Agency Drug Enforcement Task Force in Union County arrested a suspected drug trafficker Friday after an investigation into possible drug activity.
Timothy S. Island, 38, of Richwood, was arrested during the morning hours at an apartment on Forrest Lane.
Island was initially charged with a probation violation and lodged in the Tri-County Jail. Additional charges including drug trafficking and corrupting another with drugs are pending.
The suspect is also suspected in connection with a recent overdose in Union County. That case is set to be handed over to the Union County Prosecutor’s Office, pending lab results.
Law enforcement served a search warrant on the residence following a two-month investigation, and found a firearm, cash, as well as suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia.
