A minor child came away with only minor injuries after he was struck about 10:30 a.m. Friday while riding his bike in the 100 block of Spring Avenue.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department report the juvenile was riding his bicycle eastbound on Spring Avenue when he reportedly pulled into the street from behind a parked sport-utility vehicle and rode into the path of an eastbound vehicle operated by Shannon Kuhn, 45, of Bellefontaine.
Impact from the collision reportedly caused the boy to roll up on the hood of the car. He reportedly sustained only minor cuts and bruises, and was transported as a precaution to Mary Rutan Hospital. Damage was light to Ms. Kuhn’s vehicle. The bike was heavily damaged.
No citations were issued.
Theft of handgun reported
Nicholas Price, of 1117 Omaha Road, reported about 11:30 a.m. Friday that a nine millimeter handgun along with assorted loose change was taken sometime overnight Thursday from his unlocked vehicle.
Police are investigating.
