Three people were transported from a crash involving a semi tractor-trailer and a sport utility vehicle Tuesday morning at County Road 1 and State Route 245 near the Piatt Castles.
Troopers of the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol report the semi driver, Reece Holland, 52, of Lily, Ky., along with the driver of the SUV, Ryan Cron, 18, of DeGraff, and his passenger, Abigail Dague, 16, of DeGraff, each was transported by Macochee EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital from the 11:45 a.m. crash.
While the semi driver sustained minor injuries, Cron and Abigail each was transferred by medical ground transport to the OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, where they each was listed in stable condition in the trauma unit Wednesday, troopers said.
Troopers report Cron was operating a southbound SUV on C.R. 1 when he drove through the stop sign into the intersection and his vehicle was struck on the passenger side by the eastbound semi. Both vehicles then reportedly went off the right side of the road, where the semi struck a road sign and the trailer struck a utility pole, and the SUV struck a tree.
The crash remains under investigation, with no citations filed thus far, troopers said. All occupants were wearing their seat belts.
