Two drivers and a passenger were transported from the scene of a two-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon at County Road 32 and State Route 47, deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report.
Drivers Betty L. Hemphill, 88, of Bellefontaine, and Preston G. Lambdin, 56, of Belle Center, each were transported by Bellefontaine EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of suspected minor injuries.
A passenger in the Lambdin vehicle, Kaleb E. Lambdin, 23, of Belle Center, was transported by Robinaugh EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital, also for the treatment of suspected minor injuries.
Hemphill reportedly was operating a southbound 2018 Ford Escape on C.R. 32 about 2:15 p.m. and turned left onto S.R. 47, striking the driver’s side of a northbound 2002 Ford Taurus operated by Preston.
The impact sent the Lambdin vehicle off the northeast side of the intersection.
Damage was heavy to the Lambin vehicle and moderate to the Hemphill vehicle. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
All occupants were wearing their seat belts. Hemphill was cited for failure to yield at an intersection.
• Rita M. Rowe, 71, of Rushsylvania, was cited for improper backing related to a non-injury crash Tuesday afternoon.
Rowe reportedly was operating a westbound 2007 Kia Rondo on east State Route 273 about 4:35 p.m. and stopped at the stop sign at U.S. Route 68. She began backing up and struck a westbound 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe operated by Jonathan C. Flowers, 36, of Rushsylvania.
Damage was light to both vehicles and the drivers were wearing their seat belts.
