A pair of Benjamin Logan basketball players and an Indian Lake standout were recently selected to the Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division first team.
The Raiders’ Savannah Pavoni and Lynzee Cronkleton and Indian Lake’s Bethany Golliday were first-team picks.
Ben Logan’s Peyton Derr and Indian Lake’s Kaylee Shelton were named to the Mad River division second team, while the Raiders’ Kerry Copenhaver and the Lakers’ Kyleigh Huffer were special mention selections.
Mad River sportsmanship awards went to the Raiders’ Kayla Reeves and the Lakers’ Kayli Barlow.
Joining the three local players on the Mad River division first team were North Union’s Journey Blevins and Gabby Ziegler, Graham’s Katelyn Nash and Urbana’s Samantha Rooney.
The rest of the Mad River second team was made up by Graham’s Abby Yukon, Urbana’s Maleah Murphy and North Union’s Maddy Amstutz.
Rounding out the Mad River special mention list were Graham’s Lexi King, North Union’s Kori Marvin, Northwestern’s Karli Smith and Urbana’s Claire Keely. North Union’s Blevins repeated as the Mad River division player of the year.
For the Kenton Trail division, Bellefontaine was represented on the second team by Hannah Rader.
The Chiefs’ Caitlyn Shumaker earned a special mention honor and the Chiefs’ Lexxi Gorham received the sportsmanship award.
Jonathan Alder’s Sydney Bourquin was named the Kenton Trail division player of the year.
Bourquin and teammate Abby Jones were first-team selections along with Tecumseh’s Terah Harness, Makenzie Chinn and Gabby Russell and London’s Rachael Alexander.
Along with the Chiefs’ Rader, the Kenton Trail division second team consisted of Jonathan Alder’s Melissa Walbom, London’s Autumn Mitchell and Lexi Zabloudil, Shawnee’s Andi Meeks and Kenton Ridge’s Megan Freeman.
The remaining special mention selections for the KT division were Jonathan Alder’s Mary Ferrito, Kenton Ridge’s Laura Rose, London’s Darcy Mitchell, Shawnee’s Tori Malicki and Tecumseh’s Emma Garber.
