CANTON, Ohio (AP) — Two men killed when a fast-moving fire roared through their northeastern Ohio home last week died of smoke inhalation, authorities said.
The fire in Canton Township was reported around 3:45 a.m. Friday by a passer-by, authorities said. The home was engulfed in flames when emergency responders arrived.
Steven Roberts, 50, and Elzie Simons, 53, were found in the home and were pronounced dead at the scene. A small dog also died in the fire.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but authorities have said it did not appear to be suspicious.
