Lucas C. Chamberlin, 12, of Huntsville, was transported by BMRT EMS to Lima Memorial Hospital for treatment of suspected minor injuries sustained after his bicycle was struck by a car Saturday morning.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report Lucas was operating a northbound bicycle about 11 a.m. in the 5500 block of State Route 366 on the right shoulder of the road.
He began crossing S.R. 366, failing to yield to a northbound 2009 Honda Accord operated by Devon Carnes, 20, of Bellefontaine. The car then struck the bicycle.
Damage was light to the car and moderate to the bicycle. The bicyclist was not wearing a helmet, according to the crash report. Carnes did not report any injuries.
• Corey Fuller, 28, of Dayton, was transported by Macochee EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of suspected minor injuries sustained in a crash Saturday morning.
Deputies report he was operating an eastbound 2015 Honda Accord on County Road 47 about 7 a.m. and failed to stop at the stop sign at County Road 1. His vehicle struck a northbound 2015 Chevrolet Silverado operated by Jacob R. Adkins, 38, of Mechanicsburg.
The Fuller vehicle then traveled off the northeast side of the intersection and went through a fence. The Adkins vehicle also went off the northeast side of the intersection and drove over a stop sign.
The crash report indicates that Fuller was fatigued/had fallen asleep at the time of the crash. He was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign.
Damage was heavy to the Fuller vehicle and moderate to the Adkins vehicle. Both were towed from the scene.
• James A. Strunk, 22, of West Liberty, was transported by BMRT EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of possible injuries sustained in a crash Saturday afternoon.
He was a passenger in a southbound 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer operated by James M. Strunk, 66, of West Liberty.
The Strunk vehicle reportedly was stopped in traffic on State Route 117 about 12:55 p.m., waiting to turn into Hurley Farms, 9249 S.R. 117.
The Trailblazer was struck from behind by a southbound 2002 Ford F-150 operated by Beau A. Young, 18, of Huntsville.
Young and the other motorist did not report any injuries. All occupants were wearing their seat belts.
Young was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead. Damage was light to the Young vehicle and moderate to the Strunk vehicle.
• Michael D. Golden, 23, of Lewistown, was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead related to a non-injury crash at state routes 117 and 366 Sunday afternoon.
Donald C. Sherrod, 71, of Marysville, reportedly was operating an eastbound 2020 Dodge Ram on S.R. 366 about 12:45 p.m. and stopped for the stop sign at the intersection. He was struck from behind by an eastbound 2006 Chevrolet Equinox operated by Golden.
Damage was light to both vehicles and the occupants were wearing their seat belts.
• Raymond Scherer, 60, of DeGraff, did not report any injuries after his vehicle struck a horse in the roadway about 12:30 a.m. Sunday.
Deputies report he was operating an eastbound 2006 Ford F-150 In the 8500 block of County Road 13 when he struck a horse in the middle of the road. The horse then ran to 8505 C.R. 13, according to the crash report.
Damage was heavy to the pickup, which was towed from the scene. The driver was wearing his seat belt.
