Chicken barbecue fundraiser plans discussed
Logan County Board of Developmental Disabilities Superintendent Saul Bauer welcomed Discovery Center staff and students for the 2018-19 school year at the board’s Thursday evening meeting.
Discovery Center Staff returned to work Monday, and preschoolers began classes Wednesday or will start classes Monday, Aug. 20.
Two new staff members joined the Discovery Center this year, itinerate instructor Emily Watkins, and instructor assistant Tamara Frazier, each of whom began work Monday after completing their new hire orientation.
In other matters, the board discussed the 31st annual LCBDD Foundation’s chicken barbecue fundraiser, which is slated for 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday Oct. 4. The menu consists of a Port-A-Pit half barbecue chicken, applesauce, chips, cookie, roll and butter.
The meal is $8, and tickets can be purchased from any LCBDD or RTC Industries Inc. employee or board member.
