The Logan County Extension 4-H Youth Development program hosted its Cloverbud Day Camp June 9 at YMCA Camp Willson, 2732 County Road 11, Bellefontaine.
“Cloverbuds” are 4-H members who are ages 5-8 years old and who are not yet old enough to participate in 4-H project work or overnight camping programs. Logan County 4-H’s Cloverbud Day Camp had 13 participants from 4-H clubs across the county.
Youths participated in a variety of activities, such as rock painting, slime making, outdoor recreational activities and got messy playing paint and water games.

Teen counselors facilitated the day camp’s activities and served as youth role models during their stay at Camp Willson. These teen counselors spent many hours planning for the Cloverbud Day Camp and, with the help of the Logan County 4-H Educator, Justin Bower, the program was a huge success.
Despite the rain dampening the grounds that afternoon, campers and counselors found many ways to continue interacting and exploring. Cloverbud campers enjoyed hiking, creating memorable crafts, and “most importantly, making new friends at the day camp,” organizers said.
If you would like to sign your child up for next summer’s Cloverbud Day Camp, contact Bower at Bower.183 or call the Logan County Extension Office at (937) 599-4227 this fall to sign up for 4-H. For information about 4-H, visit www.logan.osu.edu.
