The Logan County Electric Cooperative board of trustees announce Tim Street has been named the co-op’s new president/general manager, with his tenure beginning Dec. 12.
Street comes to LCEC with an enthusiasm for cooperatives and engaging co-op members.
“My career has prioritized member-led organizations,” he said. “I have served the members of the Ohio Farm Bureau, Mid- Ohio Energy Cooperative, and Buckeye Power.”
After he earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture degree from The Ohio State University, Street worked for over two decades in both the agriculture and electric cooperative industries.
“For years I have worked directly with the members of Farm Bureau and electric co-ops,” he said. “That experience provided the opportunity for me to grow in my understanding of how to lead a successful cooperative. And now, by coming to Logan County, I am fulfilling my goal of serving in the leadership role for an electric distribution cooperative.”
Street started his career at the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation as an organization director for Fairfield, Hocking, Pickaway and Ross counties. He advanced to a position in which he supervised three county offices and managed partner organization relationships.
In 2007, Mid-Ohio Energy Cooperative in Kenton, named Street as director of communications and member services. He worked there until 2018, then joined the sales and marketing department at Evolution Ag.
Street comes to Logan County with a history of deep involvement in the rural community.
“I believe that its people are what makes a community great,” he said. “I have been active in Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce, and I am committed to becoming a contributing part of the community in Logan County.”
One of his goals as general manager will be to continue LCEC’s history of financial stability, while providing quality and reliable electric service to all its members.
“My capabilities align well with LCEC’s strategic pillars of financial stability, reliability, economic development and member engagement,” Street said. “I look forward to working with our staff and board of trustees to advance our reputation as a co-op that provides exceptional service to our members.”
