With names like Angel Face, Peddle Pusher and Cutie Pie, the entries at the day two open class flower show Friday presented one of the most colorful—and best-smelling—exhibits at the Logan County Fair.
Judge Marian Moeckel of the Ohio Association of Garden Clubs was impressed with this year’s entires.
“You have a beautiful show,” she told the organizers and audience. “You really do.”
Some of the top winners at the day two flower competition included:
• Brian Moody, two best in show awards — for horticulture and artistic, plus reserve best in show artistic design;
• Judy Bozman, best in show daylily;
• Joe Antram, best in show roses;
• Joyce Harman, reserve best in show daylily;
• Doris Hager, reserve best in show horticulture.
Five-year-old Riley Wygle also garnered a best in show award in the junior division Friday.
A resident of West Mansfield and homeschool student, this was Riley’s first exhibit here. and she’s off to a great start.
Fellow junior award winners this week included cousins Jace Thompson and Chloe Borgerding.
