Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of the U.S. Route 33 overpass along State Route 347 Tuesday morning for two separate, non-injury crashes reported minutes apart during icy road conditions:
• In the first crash about 6:12 a.m., Ashtin R. Henry, 25, of Belle Center, was operating a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu, entering S.R. 347 from the U.S. 33 exit ramp when she lost control while crossing the overpass of U.S. 33.
Her vehicle lost control on the slick overpass and struck a northeastbound 2005 Jeep Liberty operated byRay A. Nelson, 45, of Bellefontaine.
The impact sent the Nelson vehicle into the rear of a northeastbound 2009 Honda Civic operated by Robert A. Foster, 56, of Cable.
The drivers were checked at the scene by Perry Township EMS personnel, but did not report any injuries and were not transported from the scene.
Damage was heavy to the Henry vehicle, moderate to the Nelson vehicle and light to the Foster vehicle. The drivers were wearing their seat belts.
• In the second crash about 6:26 a.m., deputies report Charles L. Seimet, 19, of Belle Center, was operating a northeastbound 2013 Ford Taurus on the U.S. 33 overpass on S.R. 347.
His vehicle struck the rear of a northeastbound Ford F-150 Operated by Sarah A. Sneary, 34, of West Mansfield, that had slowed for stopped vehicles in the road on S.R. 347.
Seimet was checked by Allen Township EMS personnel and Sneary was checked by Perry Township EMS at the scene, but were not transported.
Damage was heavy to the car, which was towed from the scene. Damage was light to the pickup.
• Deputies also responded to a hit-skip crash about 4:35 p.m. Monday in the area of County Road 44 and State Route 559.
Deputies report a Mazda 6 operated by an unknown driver went off the right side of the road and struck the driveway at 9642 C.R. 44 and a Century Link pedestal, causing functional damage.
The vehicle then left the scene, leaving a rear bumper behind.
Two men reportedly returned to the scene to collect the bumper and then left the scene a second time, deputies said.
