Brian Ramsey, 44, of Huntsville, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs related to a traffic stop Saturday evening.
Officers of the Washington Township Police Department on patrol about 8:35 p.m. on State Route 366 west of State Route 368 observed a silver Cadillac make several marked lanes violations.
Officers initiated the stop and identified the driver as Ramsey. Officers noticed signs of impairment, as Ramsey displayed slurred speech, had bloodshot eyes and a heavy odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle. He was asked to exit the vehicle several times and refused.
Officers advised Ramsey he would be placed under arrest if he did not exit the vehicle. Ramsey eventually did exit the vehicle and was unsteady on his feet telling officers he was almost to his house.
When asked if he had been drinking, the defendant advised officers he had consumed three beers and two fireball shots in Bellefontaine. Ramsey reportedly refused to submit to field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest and transported to the Logan County Jail, where he refused to provide a breath sample.
Ramsey is also being charged with OVI refusal and received a marked lanes citation.
