A representative from the Ohio Hi-Point Career Center shows seventh-grade pupils how to perform CPR during the Logan County Career Day Friday at Riverside Schools. Seventh-graders from Bellefontaine, Benjamin Logan, Indian Lake, Riverside and West Liberty-Salem schools were able to network with local professionals from many different Logan County businesses and organizations. Youth Development Liaison Karen Sorreles from the Midwest Regional Educational Service Center arranged the event in collaboration with Lydia Hess from the Logan County Chamber of Commerce. The students were exposed to well-known occupations and career fields so they can start to research and explore different career paths and what it takes to reach their personal career goals. The seventh-graders had the opportunity to interview the representatives, asking about typical work duties, required education and training and what they love about their jobs. Extensive career exploration is an important facet of the middle school curriculum, and sharing in the 3E initiative — standing for Employed, Enlisted Enrolled. (SUBMITTED PHOTO)
