• Logan County History Center’s Halloween KidFest — 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, 521 E. Columbus Ave., children and parents invited to attend in costume for trick-or-treat event; entering through Transportation Museum doors and continuing through hallways of the museum, “spooky decor, but no scaring,” participants invited to take home a pumpkin and goodie bag; admission: one non-perishable food item per person for donation to a Logan County food bank; visitors recommended to wear masks or face coverings while indoors.
• Ring of Lights Halloween Walk — 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, Blue Jacket Park (rain date, Sunday, Oct. 24) safe trick-or-treat alternative; begins at the high school parking lot; ages: preschool, kindergarten and grades 1 and 2; trick-or-treat bags provided.
• Chippewa Outreach Center free haunted house — Not So Scary Haunted Jungle, 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28; and Scary Jungle, 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, both at 13976 Ironwood Ave., Lakeview; the first “not so scary” night invites children to tour haunted house, but no one will be jumping out to scare them and they are invited to take flashlights and glow sticks.
• Zanesfield United Methodist trick-or-treat — 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, 2880 Main St., Zanesfield; hot dogs, hot chocolate and goodie bags for children.
• Logan Countywide Beggar’s Night — 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30; last year, Logan County Mayor’s Association moved Beggar’s Night to a Saturday afternoon, citing offering a safer event during the daytime and also hosting the trick-or-treat at a time when working families could more easily participate.
• Bellefontaine First Church of God trunk or treat — 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, 1000 E. Brown Ave.
