Sandra Jean Spires, 75, of Belle Center, passed away Tuesday afternoon, October 12, 2021, at Mary Rutan Hospital.
Sandy was born in Russells Point on June 13, 1946, to the late Melvin Leroy and Marrietta (Beach) Hereld. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, William Spires who died just over a week ago. Sandy was also preceded in death by a son Raymond Spires, and siblings; Clara Ostermyer, Lila McKinley, Roger McKinley, and William McKinley.
Sandy is survived by her children: Billy Spires of Fulton, Missouri, Roger (Jody Williams) of Belle Center, and Terry (Tina) Spires of Marion; 17 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sister Sherry Dugan of Lakeview; brother Harry “Bub” Hereld of Florida; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved chihuahua Andy.
Sandy loved to go to garage sales. She also enjoyed her pull tabs and scratch offs.
Pastor Steve Smith will officiate Sandy’s funeral service on Friday, October 15, at 1p.m. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Belle Center, where visitation will be held from 11a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Huntsville Cemetery.
