Claire Maxfield Pusey, 61, of Lakeview, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, May 3, 2021, at her home.
Claire was born on August 27, 1959, in Tulsa, Okla., a daughter of the late Joe Seth and Dorothy Jeanette Coyan Maxfield.
On June 14, 1986, Claire married Loren Michael Pusey in Tulsa and he survives along with their two children, Stephen Maxfield (Meredith Franklin Pusey) Pusey of Amelia, and Sean Meredith Pusey of Columbus, and a sister, Adele Maxfield of Muncie, Ind.
Claire was a 1977 graduate of Tulsa Edison High School. She earned her associate degree from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from University of Oklahoma and her teaching certificate from the University of Northern Iowa for secondary speech, communication, and drama.
Claire worked as a substitute teacher for Indian Lake Schools, Ben Logan Schools, Riverside Schools and Jackson Center Schools. She attended Logansville Community Church. She was active in Our Daily Bread of Indian Lake and Philharmonic Club. Claire was passionate about theatre, music, art, and singing. She also enjoyed playing cello, storytelling, graphic design, cooking and making floral arrangements.
Pastor Dana Kidder will begin memorial services at 5 p.m. Friday, May 14, at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., Lakeview, with visitation from 3 to 5 p.m. Due to state Covid-19 pandemic guidelines, attendees are asked to be symptom free, maintain social distancing and wear a facial covering.
Memorials may be given in Claire’s name to Our Daily Bread of Indian Lake or Philharmonic Club.
