James Lee Powell, 36, of 429 N. Madriver St., was charged Monday with domestic violence, officers report.
During a Sunday argument with Mary Brittany Russell regarding where she could park her car, he allegedly pushed her, grabbed her wrists to keep her from leaving, threw a can of soda at her and grabbed her by the hair attempting to smash her head into a pole outside their residence. He also took her keys and threw the set over the fence into a neighbor’s rear yard.
Woman arrested for theft
Stephany D. McCleese, 42, of 408 Walker St., was charged Monday with theft, public intoxication and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Around 9:35 a.m., employees of Community Markets, 309 N. Main St., reported the suspect pushed a cart with $160 in stolen goods out of the store without paying.
She was stopped in the 300 block of west Sandusky Avenue and taken into custody. Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department detected an odor of alcohol while talking with her.
A metal pipe that had been used to smoke crack cocaine was found in her purse.
Teen lodged for assault
Destiny Holbrook, 14, of 541 W. Auburn Ave., was charged Sunday with a delinquency count of assault.
Around 4:10 p.m., a cellular phone video provided to officers showed Destiny pull a 13-year-old girl from a car and assault the girl.
The victim’s mother pulled Destiny from the victim and they were able to leave in the car after another adult restrained Destiny.
Destiny was lodged in local juvenile detention facilities.
According to dispatch records, she was one of several juveniles who pulled the victim from the car.
Thefts reported to police
Kyle N. Brown of Bellefontaine reported Monday tools, a dump truck’s battery and other items were stolen from a construction site at 1717 White Pines Drive. Fuel also was emptied from construction equipment.
• Savannea Daniels, 868 E. Sandusky Ave., Apt. 226, reported personal belongings and furniture were stolen from her residence between 11:30 p.m. Sunday and 1 a.m. Monday.
