David A. Taylor, 34, of Columbus, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs as a result of a traffic stop Monday evening.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an erratic driver about 8:40 p.m., with a caller reporting the vehicle all over the roadway, nearly striking other vehicles on County Road 146 and Township Road 147.
Deputies located the vehicle in the area of T.R. 147 and the Transportation Research Center access road, and deputies observed the driver go left of center and into the left side ditch. The vehicle went back on the road and went off the right side.
The traffic stop was initiated and deputies observed that Taylor displayed signs of intoxication. He submitted to field sobriety testing.
The defendant was placed under arrest and at the Logan County Jail, he submitted to a breath test, with a result of 0.240 blood alcohol content. He was released to a sober driver.
