Jasmine N. Wical, 24, of Bellefontaine, was transported by MedFlight helicopter to Grant Medical Center for suspected serious injuries sustained in a crash Tuesday evening.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report she was operating a northbound car about 8:30 p.m. on County Road 120 near County Road 20 when she failed to maintain control and went off the right side of the road, striking a telephone pole and a tree. The vehicle then traveled down an embankment and across a creek, striking an embankment on the north side, where it came to a rest.
Damage was heavy to the vehicle, which was towed from the scene. Deputies said the telephone pole also sustained significant damage, as it was broken in half and was displaced about 30 feet from where it was struck.
The driver was wearing her seat belt.
• Nathaniel A. Boren, 27, of Bellefontaine, was cited for failure to stop or yield as a result of a non-injury crash Tuesday morning on U.S. Route 33.
Deputies report Boren was operating a car on County Road 10 and attempted to entering U.S. 33 eastbound about 5:30 a.m. He reportedly failed to yield to an eastbound sport utility vehicle operated by Angela M. Craig, 46, of Bellefontaine, striking the passenger side of her vehicle. Damage was light to both vehicles.
Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.
