The driver of a red, four-wheel drive Dodge Ram pickup truck with extended cab and long bed, drove west from the scene of a Monday crash at Sandusky Avenue and Main Street, officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department report.
At 2:45 p.m., the westbound motorist disregarded a red light and drove into the path of a tractor-trailer operated by Logan M. Kizer, 23, of Urbana. Kizer was eastbound and attempting to turn northbound onto Main Street.
Damage to the semi was light.
Kizer told officers the pickup was an early 1990s model and would have heavy front end damage from the collision. A male was driving and there was afemale in the passenger seat.
Officers also learned from witnesses the driver was operating the pickup at high rate of speed prior to the crash.

Motorists cited after crashes
Dylan A. Cable, 18, of Bellefontaine, was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead after a minor crash at 2:40 p.m. Monday.
He northbound in a sport utility vehicle on Main Street at Chillicothe Avenue and failed to stop for a pickup truck operated by Deven R. Reigle, 44, of Mechanicsburg.
Damage was light to the vehicles.
• Dominic J. Wilson, 28, of Bellefontaine, was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead after a crash at 2:40 p.m. Monday on Detroit Street near Fair Avenue.
He was northbound in an SUV and swerved right to avoid a northbound pickup truck towing a trailer. However, the pickup driver, Douglas E. Robinson, 47, of Lakeview, was making a legal right turn. The driver’s side of the SUV hit the front passenger side fender and it continued northbound into a utility pole.
Damage was moderate to the SUV and light to the pickup.
Officers in the crash report noted Wilson said he was attempting to pass Robinson as Wilson claimed Robinson traveled left of center before signaling to turn right. Evidence at the scene indicated the pickup and trailer were within the northbound lane when the collision occurred.
Wilson also was driving under suspension, according to the crash report.
Woman lodged
Stephanie Burk, 41, of 134 N. Detroit St., was lodged in the Logan County Jail on Monday for violating her probation.
She was revived around 7:30 a.m. Monday from an overdose after her mother gave the daughter three doses of Narcan, which helps reverse the affects of opioids.
Burk regained consciousness and was transported from 134 N. Detroit St. by a Bellefontaine squad for treatment at Mary Rutan Hospital.
Upon her medical clearance, she was arrested and taken to jail.
More vehicle break-in reported
Officers continue to handle reports of vehicle entries.
Monday afternoon, Kelly Legge, 516 Ludlow Road, reported someone entered her van and stole $6 and a child support card.
Ashley Barnes, 501 Gunntown Road, Lot 2, also reported Monday morning a vehicle was entered at her residence overnight.
Officers were called to the area around 4:05 a.m. after Barnes and a neighbor, Donald Rutter, spotted a man in black hooded sweatshirt with a backpack was trying to enter vehicles in the area.
Officer patrols were unsuccessful in locating the suspect.
Tuesday, Tiffany Bryant of Urbana and Marlene Brown, 365 Kent Drive, Apt. 127, reported a van and a car were entered at the Campbell Place complex. Nothing was reported missing but one of the vehicles had evidence of tampering with the ignition.
