Richard Woodruff, right, is sworn in Friday as a commissioner of the Logan County Veterans Service Commission by Logan County Common Pleas Courty Judge Kevin P. Braig. Mr. Woodruff was chosen for the role by the unanimous consent of Judge Braig, Judge Kim Kellogg-Martin and Judge Dan W. Bratka. The Logan County Veterans Service Commission provides direct and indirect assistance to veterans and their dependents who have met with unexpected hardship. The Commission is specifically charged with establishing regularly scheduled transportation for veterans to and from the Veterans Administration medical center affiliated with Logan County.! Commissioners and the Commission’s staff led by Shelley Kneece engage in outreach and coordination with other agencies to enhance serves to veterans within Logan County. The Ohio Supreme Court has ruled that the Ohio Revised Code confers a legal duty on the judges of the Logan County Court of Common Pleas to make appointments to the Logan County Veterans Commission.
