An Urbana woman reported Friday $180 was stolen from her motel room at Motel 8, 1117 N. Main St.
She met with officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department around 3:50 a.m. She told them she had met a man named Don through an online dating site and agreed to meet him at the motel. He showed up as a passenger in a silver pickup truck with Indiana license plates.
The woman told officers she rented two rooms, one for her and the suspect and the other for his friend.
She left the room briefly around 3:30 a.m. and upon returning found the man had left with her cash. The other man also had vacated his room.
The suspect has since blocked her on the dating site and deleted all of their text conversations.
He is white; 5 feet, 8 inches tall; weighs around 170 pounds; and has many tattoos and a mustache.
