A Rushsylvania woman was injured Sunday when she was run over by a pickup truck in her own drive. Ellanna M. Houser, 39, of 2690 Township Road 40, was in Jeffery W. McCafferty’s pickup when she either jumped or fell from the pickup.
McCafferty, 34, of the same address, told deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office he was transporting Houser home after her pickup traveled off the road into the front yard of 2396 County Road 105.
He was not sure what happened, but the victim was run over by his pickup as they drove in their lane.
He was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
Squads from Rushcreek and BMRT arrived at the scene and Houser was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital.
She told deputies that it was her fault that she was run over.
• Dan Ream, 55, of Lima, was charged Friday with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
Around 9:45 p.m., a deputy was northbound on State Route 235 on the northwest side of Indian Lake when an approaching vehicle crossed the the center line. It was observed crossing again after it passed the deputy.
An odor of alcohol was detected while talking with the motorist. He was unsteady on his feet when he exited the vehicle.
Ream refused to participate in field sobriety tests. Records show he has two prior OVI arrests in 2009 and 2011.
He also was charged with having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, possession of marijuana and driving left of center.
A 12-ounce open can of beer and a marijuana cigarette were found in the vehicle.
Revolver taken from residence
Heidi Rigsby, of 11226 Elm St., Lakeview, reported Saturday a .22-caliber revolver was stolen from her residence in the past month.
