Terry Hassell, 54, of 212 Grant St., was taken into custody around 11:10 p.m. after she stopped in the drive-up window lane of Dairy Queen, 547 E. Sandusky Ave.
She was lodged in the Logan County Jail on charges of domestic violence and operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
Jeffrey Smith told officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department the suspect hit him five times and kicked him twice in the groin. When their son Eric Smith tried to separate them, she hit him three times and kicked him as well. She then left in a car.
Officers report she was unsteady on her feet when she exited the car and would not participate in field sobriety tests. However, she submitted a breathalyzer sample after she was in custody and her result was 0.11.
Teens face charges
Four teenagers face charges after one of them was found intoxicated from alcohol early Saturday.
Mia Elliot, 14, of 3138 Mount Tabor Road, West Liberty, face delinquency counts of public intoxication, underage consumption of alcohol and violating curfew while Tegan Shamblin, 15, of 432 N. Main St., faces delinquency counts of underage consumption of alcohol and obstructing official business.
A 13-year-old Bellefontaine girl will have to answer to delinquency counts of underage consumption of alcohol and obstructing official business while a 13-year-old Bellefontaine boy faces delinquency counts of public intoxication, underage consumption of alcohol, obstructing official business and violating curfew.
At 2 a.m., officers responded to a report of intoxicated juveniles laying in the middle of Ludlow Road along Blue Jacket Park. Upon arriving at the scene, an officer Mia slouched along the edge of the street. She admitted to drinking four cans of alcohol. The officer noted she was sick from drinking too much and called for a Bellefontaine squad to transport her to Mary Rutan Hospital.
Officers tried to make contact with Tegan and the other two juveniles at her residence. They noted lights were on but shut off after officers knocked on the door.
More charges are pending against two named adults who officers believe furnished alcohol to the juveniles.
• Cathy M. Riegel, 64, of Bellefontaine, was cited for failure to control after a motorcycle crash around 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
Officers report she was eastbound on Gunntown Road and attempted to turn left into Walmart, 2281 S. Main St. She lost control and the motorcycle fell onto it left side.
She was transported by a Bellefontaine squad to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
