Heather L. Stotler, 33, address at large, was charged with two counts of forgery and two counts of theft Monday relating to an alleged theft of checks from her former boyfriend.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded about 6:20 p.m. Monday to the residence of her ex-boyfriend, Dana R. Hartsock, 59, of 435 N. Main St., Lakeview.
He reported a theft of checks and said he had been in contact with his bank. He suspected that Ms. Stotler had taken the checks.
Deputies located the defendant about 8:45 p.m., and questioned her about the alleged theft. They determined that last week, she had attempted to cash the checks taken from Mr. Hartsock. She was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
