Destanie S. Simpson, 27, of Springfield, was charged with falsification and was served with a Union County warrant during a traffic stop late Friday evening.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office initiated the stop with her vehicle about 11:50 p.m. in the area of county roads 1 and 5 relating to an equipment violation for a license plate light.
During the stop, Simpson reportedly told deputies that she did not have a driver’s license, but provided them with her supposed Social Security number, which returned to a Bellefontaine resident. Deputies observed that the Bureau of Motor Vehicles photo did not match the person whom they were speaking with.
Simpson continued to provide deputies with false identifying information, but eventually admitted that she was Destanie Simpson. During a pat-down search prior to her arrest, a female deputy located Simpson’s identification card that she had hidden inside her bra.
She was placed under arrest and was transported to the Logan County Jail. She also was cited for driving under suspension and for the license plate light.
