Kara R. Anderson, 38, at large, was charged with two felony counts of assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, attempted vandalism and persistent disorderly conduct early Friday.
At 12:45 a.m., officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department arrived at 118 W. Brown Ave. on a report that Anderson was intoxicated and arguing with her boyfriend, Chester W. Inman, who met officers outside.
He told them Anderson was inside destroying property and he wanted her out of the residence.
She met officers carrying a mattress and said she was leaving with her possessions. Inman and Anderson were screaming at each other and she was escorted out onto the porch.
Inman shut the door and locked it which upset Anderson further. Officers were unable to calm her due to her intoxication and she took off running. She was stopped, handcuffed and escorted to a cruiser where she forcibly placed into the rear passenger area.
While en route to the Logan County Jail, she began to kick at a rear door window causing it visibly flex outward. Officers pulled over in the 100 block of west Sandusky Avenue to place her in leg restrain straps.
She had unbuckled herself and attempted to run off when the door was opened. She forced back into the cruiser and fought officers attempts to place the restraints on her. She kicked at officers, striking one twice, before agreeing to cooperate. She was sat up in the rear seat and again buckled up.
In the 1100 block of west Sandusky, she began to kick at a window again. This time, three officers and two deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office pulled her from the rear seat and placed her in leg restraints and a spit hood.
Once at the jail, she was secured in a restraint chair.
